Paris trip almost no-go
Well, I was utterly depressed last week because I thought our Paris trip was botched as we have been battling with the car dealership that we’d recently bought our car from (the car died after only 4000 KM). The possibility of shelling thousands of dollars out of our own pocket is very real at this point. However, yesterday we made a decision that we must go on this Paris trip, so we went ahead and bought air tickets (which weren’t cheap either). We are not giving in.
People do not utter the words “used car salesmen” in total disgust without good reason. Ladies (and guys), if you are from the Greater Toronto Area, DO NOT buy cars from Kingscross Motor Sports in Scarborough!!! They refused to take any responsibility. So please heed my warning if you’re about to go there. They are the greasiest, scummiest, most dishonest car salesmen (and women) we’ve ever met.
Anyway, I won’t let this get me down. I’m just waiting for my friend to show up so we can go shopping later. I know I know, shopping again. I’m just going to window shop and help her pick out a few dresses. She’s being influenced by me and now she craves for pretty spring dresses. Well, looking at these won’t break my bank account. And it lifts my mood.

Cute bags for work

I’m thinking about changing my work bag. I’ve been carrying one of my canvas totes. I keep telling myself to swap bags from weekdays to weekends. But I’m just too lazy. I want a bag that’s really cute, but still professional-looking and practical for work. I’m loving these two totes. They are stylish, simple, and the outer pocket adds fashion and function. The cute bear keychain gives a playfulness.

Out of my comfort zone
I’ve gone quite crazy with the shoppage lately. Yesterday I went with a friend to a Guess warehouse sale. It was the third day of the sale, and being Saturday it was a complete chaos. Stuff was being picked over and over. Considering the slim pickings, I still managed to get quite some stuff, a canvas bag with patent accents, a dress, a couple of skirts and tops. So today I’m wearing this hot pink silk Marciano pencil skirt in the high-waisted corset style. It’s definitely not something I would wear normally. My guy loves it, he thinks I should step out of my comfort zone more often.

Banana shoes
Banana shoes — a variation of the flats with elasticated sides — are everywhere! We don’t even know where they came from. They just popped up all of a sudden. All the designers are churning them out, Dior, Miu Miu, Marc Jacobs, etc. Stores like Gap are, too. They don’t look so sexy just sitting there. When I first saw them in the stores, I thought they were quite funny-looking. Now they look kinda of cute to me. But how they look on your feet is the most important right? A friend of mine bought a pair and says they are super comfortable as they wrap her feet perfectly. Do you like them?

Fringe’s back?
Seems like the fringe bag’s coming back, according to International Herald Tribune’s Fashion on the fringes, “Fringing is having another fashion moment. But its revival has nothing to do with lone rangers or rodeo romance. Instead, fringe on anything from hemlines to hefty handbags is the essence of urban chic”.
(Miuccia Prada has turned fringing into high style with her satchel bag.)
Vogue advises you on getting fringe bags that are big slouchy hobo bags in opulent skins like this Gucci Indy Python bag.
What do you think of this trend? Do you think this trend will take off quickly this time around? I’ve never been into fringe bags or fringes on clothes. But the Gucci bag’s pretty hot, I like the fact that the fringes are only gathered as tassels, they aren’t over-done. And of course the gorgeous deep-red python skin helps.

I am totally in love with the white-hot hoodies this season. They are not the shapeless slouchy kind that I used to be afraid of. The shapes and cutting are sexy and the color and details are just plain fun. And they are so versatile. If you are like a girly girl like me and you want to change up your looks a bit, you should definitely pick up a funky hoodie. And if your style is usually cool and sporty, these hoodies will play up more of your casual chic.
The Breed Hoodie $299. Ohh la la sexy mama! This super-light super-soft (silk and cashmere) hoodie will drape heavenly against your curves. Channel Kylie Minogue in the “Can’t get you out of my mind” video.

He needs shoes too
Ladies, do you shop for your beau’s shoes? I know you do
We can’t leave our men to their own devices when picking out a pair of fashionable and comfortable shoes. While my guy has his own very distinct taste in shoes, I certainly like to help him when we go shoe shopping (that’s the difference between us ladies and our men huh? We actually enjoy going shopping with them and for them. Well that’s ’cause we love shopping…as long as it’s not for tools). He doesn’t *need* new shoes quite as often as I do (approximately twice a year we shoe-shop for him). Spring is a good time to do it.

Roberto Cavalli’s wild bracelets
I am so in love with these wickedly cool bracelets! To be honest, I’m not big on bracelets. My wrists are usually bear. I don’t go for the dainty pretty little ones. These are such dramatic, totally-out-there pieces. They’d adorn your delicate arm so fabulously like you’re the coolest chick ever. Wear them with a babydoll or a trapeze mini-dress for sharp contrast.
