antioxidant-moisturizer-with-white-tea.jpg I’m pretty much a tea fanatic, so when it comes to moisturizers if there’s tea extract in it, I’ll try it. The benefits of green tea have been in used for a long time. And now we have white tea, the younger sister in the tea family, also with super anti-oxidant powers. My latest favorite is Origins A Perfect WorldAntioxidant moisturizer with White Tea ($35). It makes my skin super soft and supple. It feels like an invisible shield fighting off the evil free radicals that attack my face, lol, I know that’s probably just in my head, but it’s comforting to me thinking that. So what’s the story of the White Tea anyway?

“Long, long before the benefits of Silver Tip White Tea were discovered as a miraculous skin therapy, Chinese emperors of the Song Dynasty enjoyed its exquisite taste and fragrant, flowery aroma. This magic drink was prized for relieving fatigue, delighting the soul, strengthening the will and enhancing vision. Many claimed it was an important ingredient in the elixir of immortality. Within the tea-ideal, Nirvana was always within grasp.

Today, this tea, known as Yinzhen (silver needles), is produced exclusively in China, and mainly in the high mountains of the Fujian Province. White Tea contains Polyphenols which are the most potent antioxidants. Polyphenols are found in many kinds of tea, but can be destroyed during the drying and heating process. The highest levels of Polyphenols remain in White Tea because it is harvested from the youngest buds when the plant’s energy is at its highest potential, and, once harvested, White Tea is not rolled, dyed or oxidized, but simply dried in natural sunlight. ”

white-tea-skin-guardian.jpg I think I’m going to pick up A Perfect WorldWhite tea skin guardian ($32.50) as well, it’s a lighter texture which may be better for my skin type the summer. You can use both as Origins recommends for an even more potent protection. They call that “Bubble Wrap” for your skin.
