Gotta love the wedding season. I know somebody who has three weddings to go to next month! And you know you can’t bring the same ol’ clutch every time. It’s the perfect excuse to get some fabulous clutches to liven up that LBD that will be worn everywhere. I wanna scoop up a bunch, but I’ll be sensible since I don’t have that many events to go to. One of my younger cousins who is still in school is already getting obsessed about buying a brand new back-to-school wardrobe. I actually quite envy her. Her enthusiasm’s rubbing off on me. And I want to incorporate a bit of the collegiate look into my outfits too. I’m having a nostalgic love for school bags like this one from Urban Outfitters, Folio Briefcase Bag ($58). I’m attempting to recapture my youth, lol. But I think it’s great for work too, big enough for my books and folders. And the shoulder strap is removable.
Fashion would’ve been much better investment than mutual funds
I’m officially depressed right now. I just checked my retirement mutual funds (I wanna retire rich, ha!) today — I was afraid to for the past 2 months because of the bad economy I knew I was losing money, but I had no idea how badly my retirement investments were doing — I’ve lost over 4 grand and counting. *cries*
I can’t help but wonder what the lost 4 grand could’ve got me. Let’s see hmm…
A beautiful Chanel 2.55 handbag.

Or
These beautiful Lela Rose dresses.

Or
Half of the gorgeous Christian Louboutins my heart desires on NET-A-PORTER.COM
I’m going to go sulk in the corner now.

It’s such a conflicted emotion for me. I’m loving the summer but I can’t wait to dress for fall again.
*drool* for this cardigan.

Vince Bell Sleeve Cashmere Cardigan
$159, after Nordstrom’s anniversary sale, it’ll be back to $255.
More reason to go thrifting more often
TGIF everybody!
So happy it’s finally Friday, and when I got home there was a surprise waiting for me. It was this dress my cousin scored at a vintage shop. She decided the color wasn’t for her so she sent it to me! Thanks A! It’s the softest jersey and I love the peachy pink color, and it’s in perfect condition. The fit is pretty good, although my boobs look kinda weird, I’m probably wearing the wrong bra. Overall, it’s a great find and I can’t believe my cousin is giving it to me! Why can’t I find anything nearly as pretty when I go thrifting? Once again I’m inspired to go this weekend!

P.S. Don’t forget to enter our Y.E.S. Young Essential Skincare giveaway!
Filed under Dresses, Wearing Today | Comment (0)I wanna see more!
Has everybody got their hands on a copy of the July issue of Italian Vogue? Am I the only one that just can’t seem to? *cries* I went to Chapters and it was all sold out. Thankfully NY Times had a slide show that let me have a peek. The photos are absolutely gorgeous. Mr. Steven Meisel was given roughly 100 pages for his photographs. I can’t wait to see all the rest!
Free People’s fall preview
I love Free People for the boho-chic and the free-spiritedness and comfort of their clothes. They are great weekend clothes, and if I had a creative job, I’d wear it to work all the time too. I was very excited to check out their Fall Preview (they keep adding new stuff everyday, so I keep getting lured back), absolutely adorable stuff featuring new plaids, cozy sweaters, denim, new dresses, boots, etc.
I’m really digging the uber cozy and cute hoodies. The colors are so fresh, you don’t have to wait till fall to wear them. The cool nights we’ve been having totally warrant putting these on.
We The Free Rising Sun Hoodie $168
The bulky sweaters are the farthest thing from my mind right now. But I’m always easily seduced by a shapely piece of knitwear. And don’t you love that playful warm fuzzy feeling only knits can provide?
Stripe Stitch Tunic $138
I didn’t think I was missing boots until I saw these! One of the greatest joys of fall-shopping for me is shopping for boots. Love the worn-in feel of the leather and the retro cone-shaped heels.!
Clermont Boot $548
Oh oh I’m ordering these double-stranded headbands right now. Last time I asked you guys about forehead headbands, it seemed we all loved them
Chain Headband $24
Stunningly beautiful umbrella
Unsurpassed Umbrella $175. Check out this jaw-droppingly gorgeous umbrella! Watch the flower bloom as you open it. Each umbrella features a unique jewel-encrusted gold handle. It’ll definitely make you smile on a rainy day. Confession: I’m one of those women you see with an umbrella open on a scorching hot sunny day. I still get a little embarassed about it sometimes, but from a young age my mother has distilled in me that it is wise to use a “sumbrella” to protect the skin from the hot sun. So once or twice every summer when I have to walk a long time outside, I do use one of my cute umbrellas. The key is that it has to pretty and lady-like along with your cute summer outfit
. Imagine having an umbrella like this. I’d be busting it out everyday!
