Evian Brumisateur Mineral Water Spray

September 30th, 2008

I don’t know why I stopped using Evian Brumisateur Mineral Water Sprays, I used to obsessively spray it on my face when I traveled on the plane. It was really good for my skin. Now the weather’s getting cooler, we definitely needs to up the moisture level in our skin. I’m so glad I got it again (in travel size only $5.5) just for everyday use in the office.
It’s so handy that the Evian Brumisateur was granted access behind the scenes at New York’s Fashion Week this year, guaranteeing the models a flawless final look before their pass down the runway.

To receive the full benefits of the Evian Brumisateur when applying make-up, just follow these simple steps:

1. Clean: After washing/cleansing the face, generously spray Evian over the entire face until it actually drips, wait a minute for the droplets to be absorbed and then pat the excess dry. Follow with your regular moisturizer to “seal in” the hydration.

2. Make-up: Apply make-up as normal.

3. Set: Holding the Evian canister further from the face, mist lightly in a circular motion one final time to set make-up in place and let air dry. Setting makeup helps it blend with the skin and gives it a more natural look. It also brings out more color.

4. Repeat: Repeating throughout the day keeps skin hydrated, refreshed, and looking its best.

Try it, I promise your makeup will look fresh throughout the day :) .

The perfect boyfriend cardigan

September 30th, 2008

If you are looking for the perfect boyfriend cardigan (you gotta this fall), look no further than American Eagle Outfitters. This AE Boyfriend Cardigan ($39.50) is so awesome, it has all the comfort and style. It is super-soft. I love the two front pockets. The deep v-neck is very flattering and slim-looking on the body. The length is perfect, hitting around mid-thigh, so it’ll go perfectly with skinny pants, jeans, mini-skirts, pretty much everything. And I love all the 6 colors, especially the bright Pick Cashmere and Blue Edge. I say go for the bright colors and let the cardigan to liven up the whole outfit instead of toning it down like it was done so often last year.

From October 1st through October 7, 2008, get 15% off on all orders at AE.com with code:68947528.

AVON BASICS Silicone Glove Hand Cream

September 29th, 2008

OK, you might it’s only a hand cream. And honestly, I usually don’t get too excited about hand creams. They are mostly just a glorified body lotion of some sort. But this one is one of the best ones (and the cheapest) I’ve tried in a long time. AVON BASICS Silicone Glove Hand Cream ($3 on sale for $2.49) really works like a pair of invisible gloves that seal in the moisture in your hands. My mom got me hooked on this one. She swears by it because she washes her hands a hundred times all day long in her job, this hand cream lasts even between washes! So you don’t have to keep re-applying all the time. It’s worked wonders on my dry nails and cuticles too. It’s a big tube so you definitely get your money’s worth :D .

A perfect everyday bag

September 29th, 2008

…is what I need. This Mikko Sequined Detail Satchel ($78, although I don’t see any sequins) is just what I always look for, a stylish young bag that can hold everything I need for work, running errands, going shopping, going on trips, anything! The big outside pouch is really handy.  I always end up stuffing more things in the outside pockets than on the inside for easy reach.   All five colors are fabulous.   I especially love the contrasting piping and trims of the black and olive green.  It’d look absolutely chic with my cream wool coat ;) .

I need some tough heels

September 29th, 2008

I’ve been wearing lots of girlie ruffle-y stuff lately and I want a pair of fierce chunky heels to toughen up my look. The ruggedness is more in tune with the fall I think.

oh… DEER! – Dolce Heel $84 $66. Probably can’t tell from the picture, but the crisscross straps in the front are black pony hair, which makes the shoes much richer in texture. And I love the cone-shaped 4 1/2 inch high heel.

Luichiny – Soren Sandal $120 $96. Quite a seductive orange patent sandal! You can definitely wear these through winter with wool tights.

Jessica Bennett – Halona Heel $168 $136. Every fashion person was pretty much stomping around NYC during Fashion Week in heels like this. Except this one is not insanely high (3.5 inch heel plus 0.5 platform). And there’s a zipper back for a more secure fit.

BCBGirls – Chloe Pump $136 $109. The black satin upper is accented with a wide black patent maryjane strap with a peep toe opening and 1 inch platform finished by a patent covered 4 1/2 inch highheel. It looks absolutely sexy and strong.

Pour La Victoire – Brie Heel $226 $146. I adore this sort of evil-looking shoe!  It’s maybe because of the black lizard print leather upper?  And I’m extremely fond of curve heels like this.

ABS Allen Schwartz – Breath Slingback $149 $76. This pretty much will go with everything. The 1 inch platform and lightly padded insole make it a walk-able shoes for any city girl.

Jewelry is getting bigger and bigger

September 25th, 2008

After seeing the ginormous jewelry in the runway shows (Rebecca Taylor and Nanette Lepore had some gorgeous ones) during NY Fashion Week, I kept craving for some. I saw these on Bebe and just couldn’t resist getting a piece for myself. I just love the sheer size of these. They might seem “evening”, but I think they will be quite the cool contrast worn with slouchy cardigans and sweater dresses.

Jewel Cut Multi-Pendant Necklace $69

Multi-Chain Bow Necklace $59

Layered Disc Necklace $34

Heart Charm Necklace $54. I got this one. I probably shouldn’t have, but I couldn’t talk myself out of it.

Oh speaking of big accessories, I got the Emeral Green Owl Ring that I ordered from Miss Misa today. Yay! I totally love it. The details are even more exquisite than I imagined. Pleasantly bigger, too :D .

So huge necklaces in my book are a good thing. But I’m not so sure if that’s the case for earrings. Glamour Magazine’s Fashion Blog says the bigger the better. What do you think? They look kinda ridiculous to me on Hilary Duff. Her earrings are literally as big as her face.

Fall coats wish list

September 24th, 2008

I’m all about jackets and coats these days. Winter really has no redeeming quality if it weren’t for gorgeous coats (and boots. And maybe Christmas :p). From Tuesday, September 23, until Monday, September 29, shopbop is passing on an extra 20% savings on jackets and sweaters when you use code SHOPBOPSECRET. at checkout. I’m not exactly in a position to splurge on a coat at the moment. I guess I can get my fashion fix on the hottest jackets via my wish list.

Can’t say no to ruffles

September 24th, 2008

I found this ruffle blouse/mini-dress on eBay after seeing it in a Korean magazine. It also reminded me of an Alice + Olivia mini-dress I loved in the summer (can’t find it on the net now). The ruffle panels run the entire length, so I was debating whether it was too ruffle-y. I decided that it’s not for me, lol. And the color is just so pretty.

Cuisine as a Centerpiece

September 24th, 2008

Now the weather’s cooling down and the leaves are turning colors, a lot of fall weddings are taking place. It’s truly a beautiful season to get married in. I was looking through the Weddings/Celebrations slide shows on NY Times. How refreshingly beautiful are these pictures?

Ruffle bags!

September 23rd, 2008

You know how much I love ruffles on my dresses, blouses, skirts, even shoes(!). I also want them on my bags! I just think they are so incredibly adorable and different on bags. The ruffles, especially in leather, give a lot of texture and personality to a bag, which seems so appropriately richer for fall and winter. Granted, they are more trendy than classic, definitely more of a in-the-moment kind of bags.

Why pair sweatpants with heels?

September 23rd, 2008

Just saw this bad styling job on these Primp Panda Sweatpants. As cute as the panda logo is on the sweatpants, I don’t think anybody would want to wear them with a pair of black pumps.
