Restocked with Paula’s Choice

My face’s been breaking out like crazy lately due to the stress my body’s been under. I went through my previous bottle of Paula’s Choice Exfoliating 2% Beta Hydroxy Acid Liquid in record time to curb the breakouts. So I had to restock.

Despite having all the breakouts, my skin is also dry and flakey around the nose and chin (So frustrating! I don’t know what’s going on?!), I decided to go back to the Exfoliating 2% BHA Lotion ($18.95) instead of the liquid format. The lotion has a beautifully light texture and slightly moiturizing than the BHA liquid, so hopefully it’ll mitigate the flakiness in a few days.

And because Paula’s Choice’s having a promotion this month: 25% off any 5 items, 20% off 4 items, and 15% off 3 items, I decided to try out a couple of her new products. And boy am I in love!

I’m loving this HydraLight Moisture-Infusing Lotion for normal to oily/combination skin ($18.95). This water-based oil-free lotion IS ultra light like you wouldn’t believe. My skin feels like a straw that just sucks in the moisture as soon as I put it on and it feels smooth and silky matte, absolutely no trace of residue. And knowing like all of her products, it is loaded with antioxidants. Since it’s so light, you can definitely layer this under another lotion or cream and sunscreen.

And the other one I got is Ultra-Light Weightless Finish SPF 30 Sunscreen Spray for all skin types ($11.96). I am estatic about it. It is the best sunscreen I’ve tried thus far for my oily skin. It’s even better than my beloved Shiseido sunscreen! I just want to shout it out from the rooftop. Lol. This sunscreen is literally like water, which makes it so hard to believe that it can provide SPF 30 protection in such a thin and clear liquid. It’s odorless and leaves no oil or white stuff behind. And of course it contains potent antioxidants and anti-irritants to boost skin’s environmental defenses. At first I was a little timid about ordering it. I still remember my unpleasant experience using Neutrogena’s spray sunscreen which made my skin so red and itchy because it had too much alcohol in it. Since then I’ve stayed away from sunscreens in the spray form. But after reading so many good reviews and knowing Paula would never put irritating ingredients like alcohol in her products, I went for it. And I am so happy I did. This will be a staple in the summer. Give this one a try if you are, like me, forever searching for that perfect sunscreen :)
