After Sun Lotions
Now that we’re well into the hot months of summer, I know I’m slowly getting a little bit of color on my arms, especially my left arm (the driving arm). I’ve been using after sun lotion after shower in place of my regular lotions (except for the tummy which is drenched in cocoa butter lotion to prevent stretch marks). I don’t believe you have to wait until you get a sunburn to use an after sun lotion. The soothing ingredients like aloe vera usually present in after sun lotions are always good for the skin. Like sunscreens, I go through the stuff lightning fast and I love trying different kinds. I got Burt’s Bees After Sun Soother, Aloe and Linden Flower ($12.99) on the weekend. Love it! It’s all natural, packed with Aloe Vera, Linden Extract, and Coconut Oil to soothe, nourish and help skin retain moisture.
Here are other ones I’ve tried and liked from the drugstore which are of great value so you can be generous when slathering it on. Generally speaking I prefer lotion-based to gel-based because lotions are more moisturizing.
Fruit of Earth Aloe Vera After Sun Lotion $5.99
Hawaiian Tropic Aloe After Sun Moisturizer $6.99
Banana Boat Aloe After Sun Lotion $5.59
Ocean Potion Therapeutic Hemp Seed Lotion $4.79
