No Frizz

With all the crazy pregnancy hormones, my hair did get fuller…except it’s not the picture perfect bouncy kind of full but thicker coarser and frizzier variety. Every time I get my picture taken, my eyes just zoom in on the crazy hair! I have so many anti-frizz products at my disposal. Mikimoto Pearls

My grandmother passed on some beautiful pearl necklaces to me. I think every grandma loves pearl jewelry. It really reflects her grace and elegance. I hope when I have a granddaughter, I’ll be able to pass some truly amazing pearls among other jewelry to her. What I really covet is the esteemed mikimoto pearls. Kokichi Mikimoto (1858-1954) was the first to successfully market cultured pearls. Mikimoto was born in Toba City, Japan, in 1858 and was the eldest son in a family that ran a noodle restaurant. He began raising oysters in 1888, and by the late 1890s he had been awarded a patent on a process for culturing mabes (hemispherical pearls). Over the next 20 years, he continued his research into culturing pearls, culminating with his acquisition of a patent in the early 1900s for culturing spherical pearls. Thereafter, Mikimoto was a tireless advocate of the new culturing techniques and their resulting gems. His efforts opened new markets worldwide for cultured pearls, and essentially created the pearl industry that exists today. These mikimoto pearls are truly amazing. They are definitely investment pieces.

I’m a minimum foundation/makeup kind of girl, especially when it comes to using a concealer. Don’t you just hate heavy cakey concealers? I like anything light and easy to apply and portable.
