New blazer and faux fur coat

September 24th, 2010

Very simple outfit today. Wearing one of my jersey dresses I got on eBay. I found this white Cinole Boutique blazer (Canadian label) at a consignment store. It’s light weight and drapes nicely (yes blazers can drape too).   I wasn’t too thrilled about the shoulder pads initially and  I can’t exactly take them out because they are sewn inside the lining.  But now they don’t bother me so much.  I’m thinking of changing the buttons to make it more funky.  I also picked up this cute little no-name clutch there. These days when I don’t have to lug around a big diaper bag, I like to go with a small shoulder bag.

And you guys have heard me wanting a faux fur coat or vest badly for the fall.  Well….I found a vintage faux fur coat on eBay!  And it’s a white one which was what I wanted the most.   I was a little worried that since it’s white, it might have discolorations or stains.  But it turned out to be in excellent shape.   I love it.

Another wacky eBay buy

April 26th, 2010

My guy is always amazed at how the heck I find all these strange things on eBay. This is my latest wacky beauty gadget. This one is a face slimming contouring shaping contraption that you wear when you sleep that supposedly lifts your cheeks and keeps your jawline nice and tight. I don’t understand Japanese, but I think that’s the gist of it.  Who knows if this really works, I might give up after a week. But for $20, what the hell, lol.

Back to eBay

March 15th, 2010

I can’t believe how long I stayed away from eBay for, exactly two months! The itch somehow came back today and I had to browse. And I’m glad I did. The first things I looked were shoes (of course) and I found this lovely ebay store that sell trendy shoes for amazing prices. It’s definitely going on my favorites list. I’m so tempted to click on Buy it Now on all these.

Searching for “fingerless gloves” on eBay yielded me this pair of short fingerless faux fur gloves :)

Shopping is soothing

November 2nd, 2009

Thank you darlings for all the well wishes! :D While taking care of a new born baby is so much work, I seem to have an unlimited amount of energy even though I’m only getting 4 hours of sleep everyday. I’m doing really well. So well that now I find myself to have even more time for window or real shopping online, lol. I just bought these things on eBay in a flurry. My guy joked that it didn’t take me long to get back to shopping. No rest for the wicked. Shopping is definitely a stress reliever for me right now.

A few more eBay buys

September 28th, 2009

Another waist-cinching retro-inspired belt and couple of other bags that I bought on eBay came today. When I was looking at the bags, the seller had them in multiple colors. Since the styles are so girlie, I purposely stayed away from black and brown and got them in light colors instead. The peach quilted bag is just a fun one to use on weekends. The light blue one is quite roomy, I’m thinking maybe I can even use it as a diaper bag, lol.

By the way, darlings, I’m going to have a new exciting giveaway for you this week. Stay tuned!

New ebay buys

September 24th, 2009

I’ve been really good NOT spending a copious amount of time on eBay bidding on everything in sight for a couple of months now. It hasn’t been that difficult, especially since I can’t wear any “normal” clothes. Well, I thought I’d treat myself. I got a few bags and a couple of belts. Yesterday, two of them arrived :)

I want more waist-cinching belts for once I get my waist back, especially retro-inspired ones like this butterfly buckle belt. I remember I had a bunch of elastic belts in my early teen years. Really wish I still had them.

Love this pink leather quilted bag! It’s super light and roomy. Seems like I’m really into pink handbags lately, lol.

Longing to wear normal clothes

August 21st, 2009

Nothing special about today’s outfit…I just wanted to show you guys my ever-expanding baby pump. All I can say is skirts with elastic bands are my friends. I’ve still got two months to go, I can’t imagine how much huger I’ll get, lol. Everyday I look at my old clothes in my closet wistfully.

Oh the dresses I got on eBay got here. They are in my old size (yep, I’m practical like that :) . I can’t wait to wear them next year. I have no idea how they’ll look on me. They are supposed to look like this.

Back to shopping

May 28th, 2009

Darlings, sorry the updates have been irregular lately. A lot of changes have been happening in my personal life. We are in a major home renovation mode this summer. There’s so much to be done before the baby arrives (yes, I’m pregnant! :) . My guy insists on doing some of the stuff ourselves. We started doing tiles in the kitchen this week. Hope we don’t mess it up. Fingers crossed. I’ve put on 10 pounds so far. Half of my wardrobe no longer fits me, which makes me feel like in a funk lately (hence the lack of outfit pics). I want to update my summer wardrobe so badly. But the steady weight gain puts me in a dilemma. I’ve deicded that I’m not going to buy strictly maternity clothes. I’m just going to keep buying regular pieces just in a larger size (might need to tailor some pieces). It’ll be interesting to see XL dresses hanging next to XS ones in the closet later on this year. Anyway, don’t worry this blog won’t be overrun by gushy baby talks, lol. The focus won’t change — fashion and nothing but fashion.
c2dd_1 Speaking of which, I lifted my long time ebay ban and got these flat sandals. The fashion person inside me really wants some high-heeled sandals, but the sensible me knows that’s probably not the best footwear choice for me now. Last weekend I put away most of the high heels and brought out all the flat sandals, plus a couple of comfy wedge sandals. Can’t wait to get these red sandals. Hopefully they’ll be really easy to walk in. My feet have also swollen up, lol.

Demin-esque leggings

October 22nd, 2008

These are my latest eBay purchases — leggings that look like jeans. Does anybody have something similar to these? I thought it was a really clever idea. They are like leggings and skinny jeans in one (definitely makes tucking into boots super easy). They are thicker than usual leggings and totally opaque. I got one pair in black (with the faux roll-up) and one pair in dark blue (stirup). It’s so freaking cold today (I can’t believe it snowed last night here!). They are doing a good job keeping my legs warm. If you are interested getting a pair, go here and here on eBay. I’m pretty happy with the seller. Just you know, they only come in one size. If you are taller than 5’4″, they’ll probably be too short for you.

Our anniversary…and can’t wait for Thanksgiving!

October 8th, 2008

I can’t wait till the long weekend is here (Thanksgiving long weekend for us Canucks). I love the days around Thanksgiving because we also celebrate our wedding anniversary :D . We got married on a beautiful autumn day on the Thanksgiving long weekend two years ago (October 7, 2006). Gosh, it feels like we just celebrated our 1st anniversary. I guess we are no longer newly weds, lol. We are still same the goofy big kids after all these years we’ve been together. This year our gift to each other will be a vacation that we want to go in January (to get away from the long winter of Canada!) to someplace tropical for a second honeymoon. Since my guy had to leave for a business trip on the day of our anniversary, we decided to celebrate on the day before. We kept it simple and fun. We went Halloween costume shopping (our annual ritual). My guy wants to be Leon from the Resident Evil games. He has most pieces of his costume ready, the leather jacket, the gun, the holster, etc. Now only the hair is left. Leon has flowy piece-y anime hair, and my guy’s hair is cut super short. We had tons of good laughs as he tried on some wacky wigs. No luck though, he’ll have to keep looking. I want to be a vampire again like last year. I already have the demon-eye contacts and a pair of fangs. I haven’t figured out what goes on the body yet. After that we stuffed our faces with sushi and went home to binge on one of our favorite shows at the moment, Supernatural (ghosts, demons, zombies, and magic make excellent entertainment. Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki are eye candy too). Then I helped him pack. I really enjoy packing for my guy as one of my wife-y duties, hehe. It was a perfect day just how I like it, each other’s company and lots of laughter.
This is what I wore for a casual night out. I got this silk dress on ebay ’cause I thought the little lady in the red gown was just too adorable. I’m pretty sure the “girl-in-a-dress” design is mimicked from a designer top, I vaguely recall Lanvin if I’m not mistaken (will try to find a picture), but meh. It looked too cute not for me to get it.

My latest silly eBay purchases

July 16th, 2008

My guy says I’m always buying weird things on eBay. He’s right. These are my latest eBay purchases, Waist & Tummy slimming shaper and Arm slimming shaper. I didn’t need them, but I was curious, I just bought them for shits and giggles. These are said to slim the tummy and arms because they contain Capsicum Tincture, which I understand is hot pepper extract. I don’t even know if these work. Apparently they are popular in Asia. I’m willing to give them a shot since I’ll be in my bikini a lot soon. Hope the hot pepper doesn’t burn my skin. I’ll report back with news of either slimmer arms or rashy tummy soon.

Ah eBay I love thee

June 16th, 2008

Just when a girl was craving for these Chloe Satin elastic strappy sandals ($499), look what she dug up on eBay, this green elastic strappy sandals for almost nothing at all! I immediately hit the Buy-it-Now button. This wide-elastic-band look is very trendy now, Marni came out with similar ones, like this elasticated strap ballet flats ($507 $380.25). Maybe it’s not something you’d want invest a lot of money in. But If you are interested, check out this eBay seller Cutesy Shoes :) . There are other colors too. They are a perfect impulse buy.

My silly eBay purchase of the day

April 2nd, 2008

I think I talked about the U Bra before. It is quite a clever invention. One time I almost bought it when I saw it in the store, but I talked myself out of it ’cause a) it was expensive, b) I didn’t need one for any of my tops. I’m not one to don a plunging V neck (yet). Then I saw it on eBay from this seller and being only $10, I thought what the heck. Sometimes I just don’t buy things need them, but in anticipation that I might need them in the future. So here it is! I tried it on. It’s not the most comfortable bra, which isn’t a big surprise since the cup only covers half of the boob. Now we’ll see if I have the nerve to wear it underneath a plunging V neck. This Catherine Malandrino dress looks fabulous, theoretically speaking.

Need discount premium denim?

February 20th, 2008

As much as I wear my dresses, I love me a fabulous pair of denim. I’m not about to pay $250 for a pair though. Daily Denim is one of the reasons why I’m obsessed with eBay. This awesome eBay store sells brand new denim at really cheap prices. The starting bid is always ultra low, but their buy-it-now prices ain’t shabby either. I’m always watching various items from the store at any given moment. You will want to add it to your favorite sellers list, too.

This J BRAND 14″ CIGARETTE JEANS IN DARK VINTAGE is starting at $0.99.
