SPF 130?!

January 25th, 2008

Did you know you can get sunscreens with SPF 130?? Holy crap eh? Yep that’s what I found on ebay, Sunplay SPF 130 Lotion. I know, sunscreen isn’t exactly the hottest topic when it comes to skincare in the winter — actually I’m sure many of you will agree with me that it is still extremely important to wear sunscreen especially when the sunlight is being reflected off the snow plus the rays from above, i.e. the double-whammy — it’s just not that exciting. But I try to keep on top of it. Sunplay is a Japanese brand that I love. I’ve tried its SPF 30 and I rank it up there with the best of them. The texture is extremely light and non-greasy, perfect for my oily skin. I wish I had bought a truck load of the stuff when I went back to Asia last time. They keep increasing the SPF number. I just can’t believe they’ve come up with 130! Proof once again Asian women are obsessed with sun protection and avoiding a tan. Lol.

Facial Massage Roller

December 20th, 2007

You are going to laugh at this. I laughed too when I used it the first time. This is a facial massage roller for slimming and tightening the face. Sounds kinda far-fetched right? I saw this on one of my favorite Chinese beauty TV shows. You roll it on your cheeks, it can tightening and contour, and de-puff your face by targeting the lymphatic glands in front of and under the ears. Asian girls are obsessed with beauty gadgets, I’ll tell you. The girls were testing it on their faces, it looks so funny, but I couldn’t resist so I immediately jumped on eBay to see if I could get it. Lo and behold, it wasn’t hard to find. And it didn’t cost much so I figured what the heck and ordered one. I wasn’t really interested in slimming, but if it could tighten, that’d be a bonus. One of my biggest fears about aging is sagging jaw lines. So I’m open to any preventative measures. I’ve been using this roller thingy for a week now. It actually feels pretty comfortable on the face, and my cheeks are rosy after the “exercise”. I’ll have to use it everyday to see if it really tightens my face. I guess I’ll be able to tell overtime. Just hope it doesn’t break before then, haha! If you want one, you can get it dirt cheap here on eBay.

Strong Canadian dollar makes for good shopping online

September 21st, 2007

Holy crap, the Canadian dollar is on par with the U.S. dollar! The last time this happened was in the year of 1976. It’s not good news for the manufacturers and exporters, but for us shoppers, it’s great news! All my friends are crossing the border to the U.S. this weekend for some serious shoppage. I wish I could go too! But we’re signing the deal with the builder to purchase our new house (yay!) this Saturday, so I’m going to take advantage of the strong dollar on eBay! I’m bidding on these things right now. Sorry I can’t post any links ’cause I don’t want anybody to steal them from me :p

eBay woes and joys

August 30th, 2007

99% of the time I love eBay. The other 1% of the time that I wish I never buy anything from eBay again. Well it’s not eBay’s fault, it’s those difficult sellers that make me wish I never dealt with them. So I just bought a soymilk maker. The seller refused to accept my payment through Paypal saying that he doesn’t have a Paypal account and he will only accept money order or personal checks. Who doesn’t have a Paypal account these days? And would you send cash to somebody you don’t know? I did that once, the seller took my money and disappeared. So you can understand why I was wary of it. After I pleaded with him that I’d pay through Paypal and he still refused, I sent him a check in Canadian funds in the amount that’s equivalent of the USD. He said his bank does not convert currencies. Now what American bank doesn’t convert currencies, especially from Canadian to US? Anyway, this is turning out to be a big hassle. My lesson to you is always make sure the seller accepts Paypal before you bid. That’ll make your life much easier.

But anyway, eBay’s full of good stuff, I won’t let that stop me from snatching up awesome deals. I’m going to share with you a fab vintage store that I discovered not long ago, Mill Street Vintage. It has super cute vintage clothes from the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Right now they don’t have a whole lot in stock, but definitely keep your eye on it. Sometimes they have a ton of stuff. Everything starts at low starting bid, like this adorable 70s Peach DEEP V Side Ties Boho Disco Dress XS/S $12.95.

And I love this 70s Black White 4-LEAF CLOVER Mod Mini Dress S/M $12.95. I love anything Mod.

And how awesome are these Taupe Leather ROUCHED Slouchy Knee High Boots 7.5!! It’s at $12.95 right now. With a gem like this, you know there must be a dozen (if not more) people watching it.

Vintage Chanel bag on eBay

August 14th, 2007

I spend too much on eBay. If there was an “eBay Addicts Annonymous” group, I’d be in it. I have yet to successfully score a vintage item from Chanel or Dior like so many other lucky souls that I read about. Right now I’m watching this vintage Chanel quilted bag. The current bid is at AU $36. It looks to be in good condition and obvioulsy other people covet it since there are 9 bids on it already and there are still 4 days left! I can just see the bidding war hours before it ends. Hmm…should I keep an eye on it and perhaps attempt a shot at it? I won’t be upset if you steal it from me, lol. Actually I’ll be excited for any of my dear readers if they get this one :)

My favorite eBay apparel sellers

February 13th, 2007

So last time I listed my favorite eBay shoe sellers. I’m going to do a list of favorite apparel sellers. My list is ever-expanding. I’ll definitely add new ones in the future.

JTandCompany. They sell designer duds from BCBG Max Azria, BCBGirl, Laundry, Louis Vuiiton, To the Max!, etc. Lots of dresses, skirts, tops, jackets, shoes, and handbags. They start at really low prices and biddings get intense.

The Trendy Boutique. They have tons of stuff from Anthropologie, jackets, dresses, tops, skirts. You do have to be aggressive in your bidding to be able to snatch the items.

Chiclover Shop. Lots of vintage inspired styles.

Ever-pretty. Dresses, dresses, dresses!! Lots of them and they are gorgeous! I wish I could buy every one of them.

B&H Factory Outlet. It’s a big store. They have thousands of items, in both women’s and men’s fashion. Most auctions start at really low prices.

*natty_2006* She sells Asian fashion (really cute dresses). She’s a pretty new seller, but she does good business.

New dress

February 8th, 2007

I just bought this chiffon dress on eBay. I hope it looks as pretty as it does in the picture, especially the color turns out right. I love the light blue (my favorite color) shade. If it turns out great, I’ll add the seller to my “favorite seller list” and I’ll recommend it to my fashionista friends here.

I’ll be wearing it lots in the summer for sure. But as you know I love doing the layering with flowy dresses in the winter. Girls, any advice for me how to layer this one? What kind of top and what color? I know I tend to stick with one certain style. I love to hear all kinds of suggestions :D

List of my favorite shoe sellers on eBay

January 25th, 2007

Seeing as how much time I spend on eBay, especially looking for shoes, and how many great deals I’ve gotten (I’ve had disappointments of course. A couple of pairs didn’t fit well, so I sold them on eBay, which worked out in the end). I thought I should compose a list of my favorite shoe sellers to share with all my fashionista friends. They all have a big selection of styles, boots, pumps, wedges, peep-toes, stacked-heels, etc, and most of them start at low prices, $9.99 – $19.99. And their shipping charges are reasonable too. Unlike other sellers who charge like $30 for one pair, which is just ridiculous.

Sexy leopard print

January 24th, 2007

I love this leopard print peep-toe pump, even if my guy says leopard print kinda reminds him of Peg Bundy, but I ignore him (although if this shoe had a long pointy toe and a skinny heel also covered in leopard print minus the sexy plantform, and if a pair of leopard print leggings came with the shoe, I would be reminded of Peg Bundy too).

If you like this shoe too, get it on eBay. They are only $18.99, and they are in various sizes too.

Dressy shoes on boring days

January 13th, 2007

Lately I’ve gotten into wearing dressy shoes on weekdays with simple outfits. We all know weekdays are boring ’cause we have to go to work, it can be hard to get into the mood to dress up. I’m really lazy sometimes too, which doesn’t help me at all. Sometimes I can wear the same black pumps for days in a row, just ’cause they go with everything! So I’ve been wearing some of my more dressy shoes with very simple outfits, which really works ’cause you can downplay the shoes AND add some style to the whole look. I wore my red shiny pumps that I wore to the company’s Christmas party the other day with a black top and skinny jeans. That really brightened up my day somehow.

Speaking of red shoes, I’m looking on eBay and I want these.

from E Shoe Warehouse, one of my favorite sellers. These shoes make me think of Valentine’s Day, romantic and sexy.

Want more dresses

December 30th, 2006

Tonight we’re getting together with some friends for pre-New Year’s dinner. I like to wear one of my light chiffon dresses with a top layered underneath for a casual but a little bit dressy look. I just got this dress on eBay. I can’t stop shopping even though the after-Christmas sales have been disappointing. So I’ve been looking on eBay as usual. These are from a couple of my favorite sellers, Ever-PrettyUS and Aaronkai2006 Online Shopping Mall.
