Zappos has everything!

This is probably old news for some of you, but it’s been a while since I stopped by zappos.com, and they’ve started selling clothes now? It’s no longer a mega shoe store. What can’t good ol’ Zappos do? So I have to check out the clothes. They have a wide range of brands and price points. These are some of the summer looks that I wouldn’t mind getting into.

Ben Sherman - Eaton Sleeveless Dress (Crimson) - Apparel $100. Gingham always emerges as the weather gets warmer and sunnier. It’s time to have picnics and play in the park more often. This dress is utterly adorable.

Rip Curl - Sea Shell Dress (Fluorite Green) - Apparel $50. Such a flattering shape this dress has. If you have an hour glass shape, this will be perfect for you to show off your curves. The green shade is soft and neutral.

…Lost - Verdugo Dress (White) - Apparel $36. How cool is this print? I stared at it for too long and got a little light-headed, lol.

kensie - Drapey Jacket (Slate Multicolor) - Apparel $78. A step-up from a light cardigan for a bit more dressy look. Perfect to be paired with a sun dress for work.

Lacoste - Sport Retro M10 Fitness Bag (Lacoste Green) $124. This is a great-looking gym bag. My friends try to convince me to go to the gym with them. Hmm…they might be able to twist my arm if they got me this bag as a present :p

Old Navy Spring 2008 Trunk Show

I was running some errands after work last night. On the way I stopped by the mall and got drawn in by Old Navy’s new spring stuff. It’s so nice to see some light colors again, even the neutrals look much brighter. I was grabbing stuff to try on like crazy.

My favorite look is this one. I could easily wear it to work since my workplace is uber casual. The jacket looks quite tailored. The way that is only the top button is buttoned up and the red tank peeking through is really cute. And the jeans have that trouser feel so they look more work appropriate.

Also love this look. I like this animal print sweater because it’s not loud. I don’t tend to wear animal print for warmer weather because I feel the print is a bit too heavy (I’m sure that’s just me), but this one is precisely not. And paired with the pleated short shorts, the whole outfit looks so much fun. And the sandals, love the chunky sandals. How I long to wear sandals!

My belated birthday gifts to myself

I’ve been waiting for my birthday gifts from myself from one of my absolute favorite websites Yesstyle. Even though they are a little late, they are finally here!

Hash Multi-Pocket Bag. I’ve wanted a bag with lots and lots of pockets forever. This one is just what I need. It’s got two side pouches, four pockets at the front and one at the back just on the outside! All the pockets are easy to access with either zippers or magnetic closures. And it comes with a shoulder strap too. I’m finally organized now

Trisha Lustrous Back Patent Pumps. Girls at work keep gushing over these. They love the silver glitter, the ribbons and cute little pearls on the back. They asked me what store I got these from, I told them they probably wouldn’t find them in stores here, just have to go to YesStyle’s website

Trisha Croc-Print Trim Platform Pumps. Another pair of pumps from this Korean brand Trisha. They make such fun shoes. Really love the croc-print heel and platform.

IZAR Double Breasted Flare Coat. I couldn’t ask more from this mere $38 coat (best deal ever). Love love love. Initially I wanted a white one, I really wanted a light color coat because I was tired of wearing dark ones. But the white was sold out. The grey one ended up being a good choice since I already have white coats, but no grey coats. I still have at least two months to get lots of wear out of this one.

59 Seconds Metallic Plaid Dress with Bow. This dress looked so adorable I just had to have it. My guy couldn’t understand my obsession with giant sleeves. But even he had to admit it looks cute. I tried belting it, but it ended up making the sleeves look extra gigantic (not in a good way). So no belting. It sorta presents the challenge of wearing this dress underneath a coat. There’s so much fabric on the sleeves that bunch up inside the coat sleeves. Uncomfortable, lol. But I don’t care, the dress is cute-ah.

Royal Purple

I realize I don’t have much purple garments in my closet. Understandably, it’s not a neutral and not a particular easy shade to wear on everyone, but it’s one of those colors that can “wow” an outfit, perfect for the winter. Pick from all the variations of purple, grape, plum and eggplant, to suit your skin tone. I shall work towards adding some pretty purple pieces to my wardrobe. I’ve just bought Croc-Print Trim Platform Pumps. Can’t wait to get them!

All about Chiffon

They say chiffon’s making a big comeback or re-emergence or whatever, they being the fashion people such as magazine editors, big gun fashion bloggers, fashion writers, etc. Well, to me, it feels like it’s always been here. However, perhaps with the Valentine’s Day coming in three weeks, we are paying more attention to all things romantic. I’ve always been fond of chiffon pieces and I love layering them with other “sturdier” pieces. You just have to be careful not to be in chiffon from head to toe, although there’s no lack of the all-over chiffon looks on runways lately. I’m liking these looks quite a bit from Maxstudio.com and definitely wouldn’t mind getting some for the Valentine’s Day, one day that you should always dress to feel uber feminine and romantic.

White coats aren’t always practical or as easy-to-wear and versatile as black ones. But they just make me feel so pretty and lady-like. You know wearing a black coat all winter can be so drab.
