Jessia Stam has an intimate encounter with spring’s innerwear-as-outerwear trend in FASHION magazine’s February 2010 issue.

“The romance of winter is brief. After a couple of months, even the most dedicated Canadian ice princess grows weary of the cold. But for those first few days, the hus and sparkle of the snowfall are magic, and piling on velvets, shearlings, hats and scarves is a “Lara’s Theme” pleasure. Enjoy it now. Say it with us: “Once upon a time…”.’

Don’t store your summer dresses away for the winter yet, darlings. You can definitely get more mileage out of those chiffon floral dresses. I was re-organizing my closet and it dawned on me that I didn’t have to pack up a lot of the dresses I wore in the summer. With some layering, you can absolutely still rock them. I’m wearing this cream dress with the lace overlay, one of my favorite and oldest dresses, with a navy blue boyfriend cardigan that I picked up at Target last weekend, and knee-high socks and Michael Kors platform heels, which I also scored at Nordstrom for cheaps last weekend. With the platform and padded insole, they are the most comfortable high heels ever. I’ve been practically living in them. Dresses work so well with chunky cardigans or leather jackets, a perfect soft-and-hard combination. And high platform heels or boots are better than flats.
I snapped this out of November issue of Lucky Magazine. I absolutely love these floral dresses from Mina UK. Doesn’t the girl’s outfit look fantastic? Love her boots!
And I love the preppy look on the girl in this Hush Puppies ad. I’m pretty much I have something similar to the blue chiffon dress in my closet. Layer a blue stripy long sleeve tee under it and a cropped knit jacket plus a striped tie scarf, and of course wool tights, you’ll be rocking the girly yet cool look.
You can get this adorable Gossip Girl inspired look from dELiA*s:

OMG that girl and that dress!
I was so happy to see one of my girl crushes, Mila Kunis (I religiously watched That 70s Show solely because of her), in Ocean Drive Magazine. She looks absolutely stunning beyond words in this Bill Blass dress. The ruffles are to die! And I always envied her big doll-like eyes. Mila rocks the strong eyebrows + smoky eyes + nude lips look fabulously.

It seems that at the turn of the fall, things always get dramatic in terms of makeup and accessories. I find this spread from the October issue of FASHION magazine absolutely gorgeous and giving me new ideas about how to wear the always classic smokey eye in different ways. “High-impact necklaces and six version of the smokey eye are commanding the conversation. Outbursts in gold, purple, taupe, grey, burgundy and black spoke out loud and clear on models’ eyelids at the Fall 2008 runway shows.” Aren’t the necklaces CRAZY? They will be the inspiration when I go hunting for crazy necklaces this fall.
WEAR WITH a barely-there sheer lipstick or lipgloss and a natural, cheekbone-enhancing blush. NEED TO KNOW that any shade of burgundy works, from grape and rouge to purple and fuchsia.
WEAR WITH petal-pink lips and a flush of pink on the apples of the cheeks. NEED TO KNOW the season’s smouldering purple eye can be worn two ways: sparkling brilliant or sweetly demure.
WEAR WITH pale-pink lipstick and a touch of dusty-rose blush. NEED TO KNOW that taupe is versatile, ranging from plum-grey to earth-brown hues. Regardless of shade, this look is best worn across the entire eye — from lashline to brow.
WEAR WITH a deep berry-stained lip and a light stroke of sun swept blush on cheekbones. NEED TO KNOW this canary-gold version of the smoky eye can be as monochromatic or three-dimensional as your eyeshadow palette inspires.
WEAR WITH neutral, sheer, slightly shiny lips and a bare face. NEED TO KNOW this shiny, wet-look, blacked-out eye is best applied with a heavy hand for a thick, glossy finish.
WEAR WITH beige-toned or rose lipstick. NEED TO KNOW that ultimate grey smoky eye, as painted by Peter Philips for Chanel’s couture show, can be worn sheer and light for day or with added layers of eyeshadow for night. “The colour was like a chameleon: Sometimes it looked blue, sometimes more grey, even black,” says Philips.
Posh on the cover of Allure
(Victoria Beckham on the latest issue of Allure)
This is possibly the best I’ve seen Posh on any magazines. The playful loose hair and soft makeup give her a much more gentle look than her usual sharp image. Way to go, Victoria!
“To create Victoria’s natural look, makeup artist Scott Andrew brushed metallic beige shadow on her eyelids, lined her eyes with black pencil, applied a creamy rosy blush on the apples of her cheeks, and blended a beige lipstick with a pink lip stain to make her lip color. “I just make the best out of what I have. I’m not out-of-the-ordinary-looking at all. I’m incredibly ordinary,” says Beckham.”

I thoroughly enjoy reading Glamour blogs everyday, especially its Slaves to Fashion written by its senior style writer Jenny Feldman. You gotta envy the editors ’cause they just have so much in the office. The other day Jenny was asking everybody if they were copy cats. She saw her coworker wearing this adorable pair of Enzo Angiolini White Leather Gladiator Sandals ($93) and she wanted to copy it. I gotta admit as far as gladiator sandals go, these are pretty decent. She picked a good color, the white is most flattering.

So Jenny immediately ordered a pair on Zappos.com and wore them to the office.

THEN she showed her mom the shoes and her mom immediately ordered the same pair on Zappos.com too!!

It isn’t so much fun to watch this chain reaction? And even more so, I totally envy Jenny that she and her coworkers can discuss fashion at work all day. Well duh me….that’s part of her job working at a fashion magazine. I wish my coworkers and I would be like this, but our non-fashion related job is a lot duller. The closest we’ve come is when we went to the mall at lunch time and bought the same bag, but in different colors.
