It felt like I hadn’t tried any new makeup in forever. I walked into Shoppers the other day and I saw some new products from Benefit and I had to try a few. The girl meets pearl($30) face illuminator is so perfect for the holidays. Don’t worry, this one is NOT going to make you sparkle like a disco ball. It give off a very subtle pearlescent sheen that is soooo pretty and delicate. The twist-up applicator is easy to operate. Pat it over makeup or bare skin, and you can layer it to get the desired amount of sheen and it always stays natural-looking. It is a perfect finishing touch when going out to any holiday event.

Stila sheer color tinted moisturizer SPF 15 was (still is) immensely popular. Now they have the newer better version of with a higher SPF 30, sheer color tinted moisturizer SPF 30 oil free ($36). The texture is extremely fine and smooth, so it blends in perfectly just like a moisturizer. The tint is very light, so if you are looking for more coverage, you probably won’t get it. But if you are looking for that no makeup look, then this is perfect ’cause it looks so natural on the skin. The SPF 30 is what I love the most. It doesn’t feel any more greasy than the SPF 15 version. It’s an awesome moisturizer for the summer.

Smashbox Bionic Mascara

Smashbox BIONIC MASCARA $19. I just love trying new mascaras. My lashes are tough to tame and please. They are straight, short, and resistant to curling. If a mascara works for me, then it’ll pretty much work for everybody. I think I found another gem to keep. This one’s not new I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to try it. But I love Smashbox Bionic mascara. Just a few strokes and my lashes are significantly lengthened and thickened without clumping. I don’t have to wait a few seconds to put a second coat on as I do with a lot of mascaras. It wears without any flaking or smudging for almost all day. And it’s easily taken off with my regular face wash, no separate eye makeup remover required, perfect for my lazy ass.

RAW Minerals

I recently received these RAW Minerals makeup from DermStore.com to try.  You bet I was happy to try out another mineral makeup as I am a big fan of mineral makeup.  But not all mineral makeup is created equal.  And RAW Minerals is a cut above the rest.  I tried Active Veil SPF 18 ($25) and Mineral Glow ($25).  Active Veil SPF 18 Promotes a radiantly healthy glow with this antioxidant rich formula. This powder veil is specially made to be worn over mineral foundations. Its sheer color contains shimmering particles that diffuse light as the velvety finish leaves your skin feeling silky and smooth.  But you don’t have to worry about it being too shiny.  The shimmering is very subtle and even suitable for daytime.  This lightweight formula contains an SPF 18 and natural botanicals that promote a more youthful and healthy appearance.

Mineral Glow energizes your skin with this bronzer for a sun-kissed glow. This naturally radiant formula gives your complexion color as it shades the contours of your face. It also helps control oils giving you a shine free matte finish. This formula contains nourishing ingredients that reduce fine lines and wrinkles while increasing elasticity and smoothness. Now that I haven’t heard of any other bronzer that does this.

I also got this Blush/Shaping Brush ($35).  I LOVE this brush.  The hair is so so soft and feels feather-light on the skin.  This brush is specially shaped and designed for applying blush to the cheek bones and highlighting the contours of your face. This brush has a full round head which allows easy application of product to the shape of your face. It was very easy to apply blush with just a few strokes to create the apple cheeks that I so love.

Laura Mercier Smooth Focus Pressed Setting Powder Shine Control

Laura Mercier Smooth Focus Pressed Setting Powder – Shine Control $32. It’s summer which means I gotta stay vigilant on shine-control on my face. Sometimes oil-blotting tissues are just not cutting it. I especially don’t like it when they take the makeup or sunscreen along when you blot. This Laura Mercier Smooth Focus Pressed Setting Powder is amazing. It’s unbelievably light, probably the lightest powder I’ve ever felt. The ever-so-slight green tint gets rid of redness without leaving any weird color behind. And it lasts a long time so you don’t have to keep touching up a million times a day.  You’ll have beautiful summer skin armed with this powder and Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20

Delux Beauty

While I was having a play date at a friend’s place, she was showing me her new beauty loot, I discovered this new brand called Delux Beauty. I had never heard of it before, have you? She had some fun products from this brand, I had a good time trying them out. I also liked the packaging, the compacts click together and you can stack them and bring them on the go. And it’s not expensive.

Delux Beauty Liquid Pearl $16. It’s a skin-enhancing luminizing lotion for face and body. It’s not sparkly, it leaves a subtle hint of shimmer on the skin which is super sexy. And it’s very moisturizing. Great for going out at night.

Delux Beauty Liquid Bronze $16. Excellent bronzer for all skin tones. Easy to blend, looks very subtle. If you want to try something besides a powder bronzer, try this one .

Delux Beauty Crush Lip & Cheeck Stain $6. I tried the pink cheery shade, it was very pretty on both lips and cheeks. It’s very easy to blend and because it’s a stain, it’s very natural-looking.

Delux Beauty Cream Powder Eyeshadow $9. The two shades that I tried on were Antique Blue and Lavender. Gorgeous colors. The texture is super smooth and fine, I just used my finger to put it on and blend. It felt creamy at first, then it came to a powder finish. And it stayed put.
