What Coco Rocha’s wearing

I absolutely adore my fellow Canadian, one of the hottest models of the moment, Coco Rocha’s out of this world good looks, and more importantly her sense of style. I saw this picture of her in NY Time’s Pulse in which she styled herself with inspirations from the Last Tudor. (By the way, anyone watching “The Tudors” on CBC? It’s fantastic. I love me a good period drama). It is absolutely adorable and do-able. And she shops at Aldo! Love her!

WHAT I’M WEARING NOW The jacket is from the late 1800s. I got it at Cheap Jack’s. I’ve been waiting until the Paris shows to wear it. Everyone gets decked out there, whereas in New York, people are a bit more laid back. The pants are Rag & Bone — I wear a lot of their stuff — and the shoes are from Aldo.

ALDO? REALLY? I was in a frenzy there the other day. They had all these cute new styles. The salesgirls were like, “You’re Coco!” I was like, “Shhh, I’m not really buying all these shoes.” But I believe if you see something you like and it’s cheap, by all means get it. Just don’t do it head to toe. Carry an expensive bag.

RECENT PURCHASES I bought a lot of good things at Cheap Jack’s: a long black coat with gold trim and these cute 1950s polka-dot jumpsuits. They’re very va-va-voom. But I don’t really shop that much. Models get clothes for free.

STYLE INSPIRATION The Tudors — that kind of Old World look. I’ve been into it for the past couple seasons. Riding boots, britches, high-collared blouses … But you wear just one piece, and pair it with simple black pants and nice shoes. Or, you know, Aldo.

Remember that dress?

I’m sure everybody remember SJP’s white dress with the huge flower in the SATC movie right? It seemed like a hate-it or love-it dress. I for only totally loved it. Whitney has her own show

Well, people just can’t get enough of the Hills’ girls. According to NY Magazine, Whitney Port “is shooting her own spinoff show in which she “becomes bicoastal” while working for PR firm People’s Revolution. She also befriends Olivia Palermo.” Olivia Palermo, if you followed the saga on the now-defunct socialiterank.com last year, was the young aspiring New York socialite that gave the reigning “it” girl Tinsley Mortimer a run for her money, but got “chased” out of the town and moved to L.A. to supposedly pursue an acting career when she couldn’t take the ridicule and the shunning anymore (Of course she denied that). So if Whitney continues to be the level-headed girl that gets along with everybody, we can expect Olivia to stir the pot a bit since she’s prone to drama. I like her, she’s a gorgeous girl.

I’m SATC-obsessed

There I said it. I know, it’s been days and a billion other blogs are talking about the SATC movie, I said I wasn’t going to gush “I LOVED THE CLOTHES, THE SHOES, THE BAGS”. But I can’t help it. I really did. Like I told my guy (who didn’t see it, but pretty much knows everything about the movie due to my nonstop gushing), it was like fashion orgasm! Some of my friends still haven’t seen it and I’m soooo tempted to go see it again with them. I was asked what my favorite outfit was from the movie. I pretty much loved everything they wore in every scene.  Carrie’s green floral dress and green floral coat combo from the opening was to-die-for, and her all-black outfit plus the fedora hat when she and Miranda was shopping for Halloween was so darkly chic. And the girls’ Zac Posen bridemaids dresses were beyong gorgeous. Oh and I looooved Samantha’s outfit, that big poufy off-shoulder top, when she adopted her dog on the street. Really makes me want to get a puffy too!  But I have to tell you, my favorite scene from the movie is when the girls were in Mexico and Carrie slept all day without eating anything, Samantha convinced her to have a little breakfast and started feeding her. She was so tender, and then she winked at Carrie and had that “all-knowing” smile on her face, it was like, you know everything is going to be alright. I got a little misty in the eye. It was a small scene but it really got to me. If you have a friend like Samantha, you are a darn lucky girl. Tell me what your favorite scene was!!

Splurge v.s Steal - Valentino Bag

I don’t think I’ve mentioned Gossip Girl on my blog yet, but you probably guessed that like any fashion-obsessed girl, I love the show for its fabulous clothes and accessories (the storyline however…like Danny Glover would say “I’m too old for this sh*t”, lol). Remember a few episodes back little Jenny was carrying this gorgeous Valentino Maison Studded Bag ($2,495)? The pleating, the studs, the color, isn’t it beyond fabulous?

So is everybody excited about The Hills’ season 3 premier on Monday night? I just read in that Whitney’s coming up with her own line of clothing called Eve & A this coming fall. It will feature convertible dresses, tops and jackets ranging from $40 to $250. Heidi already has a line ready to be in store in April. And Lauren’s line’s been out for awhile. All three girls are vying for a piece of The Hills market. We don’t know what Whitney’s line’s going to look like. Here are what Heidi’s and LC’s lines look. Heidi’s is considerably cheaper with everything under $50. Who do you think has got the better line?

Keira Knightley and Atonement - a perfect marriage

A UK poll by high street chain Superdrug has found Keira Knightley is Britons’ beauty icon for 2007. I’m sure the movie Atonement has something to do with it. Have all of you seen the movie? Isn’t it just a beautiful picture? Keira Knightley looks divine in it. Don’t you just love the emerald green dress she wore?

From the Press Association: this dress has been voted the best film costume of all time! It even beat out Marilyn Monroe’s white dress in The Seven Year Itch and Audrey Hepburn’s little black dress in Breakfast At Tiffany’s! That’s something.

Dancing With the Stars new season

If you’ve been reading this blog for a while, you know I was a big fan of the show. Even though ABC hasn’t made the official announcement about who will be competing in the next season, the official list of contestants have been leaked onto the Internet. The athletes and pop stars will fare the best I’m sure. I’m very curious to see how Gisele dances. It seems that being able to strut down the runway oozing sex appeal doesn’t necessarily translate into good dancing skills. Who are you rooting for? I know I do Not want to see Tori Spelling win :p

Oh the drama

Did you guys all watch the Hills season premiere this Monday night? I had to miss it, but thank God for the Internet, I managed to download episode one and two. It was the show’s highest rated season opener yet, making it the highest rated cable program of the night in the 12-34 demographic. Lauren Conrad and Heidi Montag squared off at Los Angeles club Les Deux, with LC calling her former BFF “a sad pathetic person.” Heidi is dumb. And Spencer is just so gross. And what’s up with Audrina’s ex-boyfriend. Weeeeird. Do you love the show as much as I do? It’s funny that for somebody who rarely watches reality TV, I’m totally into this one.

Live Free or Die Hard

Is an awesome movie! I saw it this week. It was just Wow! Go see it if you can’t decide, I’m deciding it for you, haha! It’s a movie you must see in the theater to appreciate it. Lots of explosions, car crashes, helicopter blowing up…all things that make me happy. Lol. What can I say, I’m an action movie kind of girl. Bruce Willis is damn sexy and tough for an old guy. Ok, maybe some of you are going “ewww” right now. But he is!
And Maggie Q makes a beautiful villain. “The Asian ninja chick”, like Bruce Willis says in the movie, is “smoking hot!” There’s a story on Maggie Q in Telephgrah, Lithe spirit. It’s quite an interesting read. I’ve been a fan of hers since her movie making days in Hong Kong.

MTV Movie Awards

Wow MTV Movie Awards came and went yesterday and I didn’t even know it. What rock was I living under this past weekend?! I am shocked at myself. Well, good thing I read the papers today. I can’t believe Paris Hilton still showed up and then turned herself into the deputies afterwards in her glam gown and all.

“The “Simple Life” star will be housed in the “special needs” unit of the 13-year-old jail, separate from most of its 2,200 inmates. The unit contains 12 two-person cells reserved for police officers, public officials, celebrities and other high-profile inmates. Hilton’s cell has two bunks, a table, a sink, a toilet and a small window. She does not have a cellmate.”

Well sounds like a pretty comfortable place to me, huh?

Anyway, I love the girls from “The Hills” (you must be laughing at me now, but yes it is my guilty pleasure, hehe ;). They are so adorable, but that does not include Heidi. I think Heidi is just the dumbest girl ever. I can’t believe she’s even engaged to that weasle of a boyfriend. Hello! Didn’t you watch the show, girl?! Lauren is so cute and wholesome, and not stupid. And I just love her white gown.

And I also heard that Cameron Diaz and Posh showed up in the same Louboutin heels and it was a big embarassing moment. What’s the big deal? It’s not like they wore the same dress. Everybody was wearing Louboutin, you were bound to have some people wear the same heel. I don’t like Posh’s blonde hair, too harsh against her super tan skin. She looked better as a brunette.

And I’m really sorry I missed the hot dance number Eva Longoria did with Mario Lopez.

Dancing with the Stars

Are any of you girls obsessed with the show Dancing with the Stars like I am? I love that show, or I should say this season as I skipped the last two. Apolo is just so cute with his goatee and long hair. He is technically the strongest one in my opinion. He’s the only star who can match his partner when it comes to more complicated dance moves. Laila is so sexy and graceful, like my guy says, she dances like a little girl even though she looks so tough. Joey’s just all good all-around. He’s an entertainer, so naturally he’s got the advantage on the showmanship. And he’s so funny, you can’t help but like him! It’ll come down to these three fighting in the end. Ian’s good, but clearly he’s no match for them.

I’m 100% sure Billy Ray’s gone tonight. He is just terrible. Did you see he was so pissed off when Bruno called his dance “crap” last night? Understandably. But he is the worst of the bunch. I think even Paulina and Shandi were better than him. But he’s such a likable person, it’s no wonder the viewers have kept him in the competition this far. Perhaps the twisted pleasure of watching him just how terrible he is what most people enjoy, lol. I was really sad when John was eliminated last week though. Just like Carrie Ann said, he was adorable like a teddy bear. And he was so humble and he tried so hard when he was much older and much less fit physically than the rest of them.

Oh I love the judges! They are all so wacky and opinionated. Bruno’s just hilarious. The show wouldn’t be the same without Bruno. He just loves having the last vote. I was laughing my head off when he and Len were arguing about Apollo’s tango, they were telling each other to shut up! That was great. Tom, the host, even whacked Len with his cue card, lol.

I’m really getting the itch to learn ballroom and latin dances now after watching the show. I took some lessons before, but never stuck with it for long. I should look into taking some lessons again. It just looks so much fun, doesn’t it?
