Fab store of the day - UrbanMinx.com
My list of shopping sites just gets bigger and bigger. Doesn’t hurt to have more options, right? My latest addition is UrbanMinx. They offer clothing and beauty products from leading American, British, and Australian designers, both of fashion staples from the likes of BCBG, Velvet, Michael Stars, and 7 for all Mankind, plus the hottest up-and-comers, a mix of high-end, independent, and eco-friendly products, UrbanMinx has contemporary fashion covered. And they offer free shipping on orders over $100.
Tulle Vintage Peacoat in Sunflower $95. I absolutely love this classic medium-length wool coat! Love the cutting and love the color. Any girl can use a coat like this. There are also pink, blue and cream versions.
Elroy Betula Dress in Black $196. How cute is this LBD?! The layered hem is so interesting. It can be flipped up or down for a playful or more lady-like look. And this dress is eco-friendly, made of 100% organic bamboo.
Bordeaux Bubble Deep V-Neck Dress in Purple Mist $185. Not your average Grecian goddess dress, but with a twist, literally. I’m really into all the draping and layering on the dresses this year. Makes them so much more interesting.
Big Buddha Kirsten Bag in Cream $79. Big Buddha always has cute bags on trend but at affordable price points, like this woven bag with braided handles. Perfect for fall.
Fab Boutique of the day - HollyWhirl.com
Oh My God! You won’t believe the excitement when I saw this online boutique. I’ve always wanted to go to the uber glam vintage boutique Decades in LA, but that’ll be a special trip in the future. In the meantime I’m forever searching for quality vintage stores online. When I was informed about this brand new online vintage boutique called HollyWhirl.com (only a month old!) selling the most coveted labels like YSL, Manolo Blahnik, Chanel, Gucci, Valentino, Prada, Christian Louboutin, DVF, etc. I had to check it out and I nearly died of excitement. You’ll be really impressed by the selection, and even more impressed by the prices. Each piece displayed is one of a kind, and 100% guaranteed authentic. For 25 years, the founder has been in the fashion industry, buying and selling unique, hand-picked items, researched by her team of fashionistas. After taking the brick and mortar boutique to a level of national recognition, she has set her sights on a new, digital horizon! It is her expressed goal to provide value-minded, upscale shoppers with reasonable prices and a top-notch online experience. The most vintage pieces, they aren’t available in all sizes. So if you see something you like in your size, you better snatch it up.

Jewelry store of the day - MissMisa.com
I’m always scouting new jewelry designers and their unique designs because you know their heart and soul are in it to make the one-of-a-kind (and most times very affordable) pieces. I love my latest discover of this charming little online jewelry website called MissMisa.com. The designs are very unique and and interesting, and they are all hand-made by Miss Misa, the designer of the store. Her Je T’aime Collection has some really ingenious ideas! Check out this Gold French Love Letter Necklace ($28). The little gold letter pendant actually opens up to reveal the Love Letter on the inside! I’m going to direct my guy to the site the next time he says “Je T’aime” to me so he can prove it ;).
This Vintage Pansy Necklace ($35) is also one of my favorites.
I love the meaning behind this necklace ’cause I am just a big sap and this necklace would suit me so well:
The Pink Pearl Pansy: The purple pansy on this necklace represents that first day of Spring, when that one little flower begins to bloom, revealing a hint of color and vibrance after a long cold winter.
Coin Charm: The French coin charms surrounded by sworvorski crystals states: Je t’aime qu’hier moins que demain, translating to “I love you more than yesterday, less than tomorrow.” This means that one’s love grows more with each day.
Rose Quartz drop: The small delicate rose quartz drop finishes off this lovely necklace with a little handmade touch!
Her latest piece is this funky and yet delicate Emerald Green Owl Ring ($35). The eyes are emerald and the brows are Swavorski crystals. I love the vintage feel of this ring.
This is the talented Miss Misa herself. Isn’t she a darling? “Misa is half Chinese half Dutch, and loves to travel everywhere from Cambodia to Paris. She speaks French, and absolutely loves bread and little kittens (especially her adorable abyssinian Cleo). Misa also loves to go to fleamarkets (ever since she was two!) to get great bargains. Miss Misa was created in 2006 by Misa in her small dorm room in the immense city of Los Angeles. Misa uses vintage and retro charms, chains and semi-precious stones to create one-of-a-kind priceless jewelry. Miss Misa also features other items from talented artists around the world, so come take a look!”

A serious skincare store - SkinCareRx
I stumbled upon this great skincare online store that is all about dermatologist and spa-grade, clinically active skin care products called SkinCareRx.com. Anyone who’s serious about anti-aging for their skin should definitely check out this site. And for the younger girls among us, it’s never too early to start on an anti-aging routine either. It doesn’t have to be complicated, a simple one would do, you just need to find the right product. The co-founder and medical director of SkinCareRx, Mark B. Taylor, M.D., is a world-renowned dermatologist and cosmetic laser surgeon and has been in practice for over thirty years. His estheticians and staff personally evaluate each line they carry for effectiveness. They carry many of the popular brands like MD Skincare, Dr. Brandt, DDF Skin care, Kinerase, etc, and many that I’m not familiar with, but now I’m very curious to try. The goal for SkinCareRx is to make innovative skincare products accessible to the public and give expert advice to the customers. There’s lots to learn on the website, including a skincare dictionary and a “Skincare 101″ course with many articles and tips. If you are like me, a sponge when it comes to skincare knowledge, you’ll want to soak it all up. They also have a Skin Care Product Reference page where you’ll find very useful information on each of the brands.
Oh you’ll want to check the site often because they have a “Steal of the Day” featuring a great product at a steep discount. Today’s Steal of the Day is this Dr Irena Eris - Pharmaceris - Puri-Capilique - Gentle Strengthening Toner
$30 on sale for $16.50. Recommended for cleansing and care of skin with dilated capillaries.
SkinCareRx.com is partnered with SkinBotanica.com, the largest online retailer of natural and organic beauty products and AnneMichele.com, fulfilling the demand for luxury, high-end bath, cosmetic, fragrance, and beauty products.

It’s always fun to discover small online stores even though a lot of times it’s a hit or miss. ChicStar.com is quite a young store and I hope they will expand and improve their selection in the very near future. I could do without a lot of of the costume-y clothes like this dress, but they have a few pieces that I quite like. The price point is excellent, always a plus for bargain hunters like me. And I like that the models they use seem to have real womanly curves, so if it looks good on the model, it’s likely it’ll look good on us average girls. Hopefully! Lol, unfortunately I haven’t found anything I like that are shown on the models. I think they started out using mannequins, then started using real girls. Oh their shipping rate is low compared to other stores, and that includes international shipping too!

Blue/Navy Stripe 50s Style Dress
$44.95. Indeed very 50s chic.

Black Ruffle Neckline Wrap Dress
$44.95. I’m sure pretty DVF had something very similar, which was extremely pretty and lady-like. Wasn’t any wonder it would get copied.
Fab store of the day - Planet Shoes
Yay another great online shoe store for us shoe addicts to visit! PlanetShoes.com is a family owned business dedicated to selling the most comfortable shoes possible at affordable prices. It specializes in active, comfortable, healthy, earth friendly products with a flare of fashion. If you place comfort and environment-friendliness above everything else, you will especially like what this store has to offer. They even have vegan choices. I don’t usually go out of my way to buy “vegan” or “green” when it comes to shoes, and I was a little skeptical at first ’cause I thought it must be full of “sensible” (i.e. ugly) shoes. Not so! Granted, you are not going to find stilettos here, but comfort certainly can be cute too!

Poetic Licence Tilly Shoes - Green - Women
$89

Poetic Licence Adored Shoes - Brown
$89 $69

Yellow Box Brush Shoes - Pewter

Juvenesse - a great skincare line with a great cause
I get so many promotions and coupon codes from stores that I want to pass on to you guys, but I found it hard to keep track of them all. A lot of times I would find coupons that expired before I could have the chance to post it. Now I’m trying to be better organized. So I’ve created a new page called “Promotions” you can on the right top corner of the page, under the “About Me” page. This is where you’ll find most up-to-date collection of promotions, exclusive sale links, coupon codes. Check it out often if you, like me, love a deal
Anyway, onto a new topic. I want to introduce you to a small yet fantastic skincare line called Juvenesse. Juvenesse was founded 20 years ago by Chicago entrepreneur Elaine Gayle. It’s a private label line of skin care, anti-aging and cosmetic products that use a bevy of state-of-the-art ingredients to treat your skin luxuriously. The brand found an immediate and growing following in major department stores including Marshall Fields, Bloomindales and Carson Pirie Scott. The company has taken its following and appealing line of products to the Internet at Juvenesse.com. What I really like about this small company, besides its fabulous skincare and beauty products, is that it sponsors a wonderful program from sponsorKIDS Charities called Peace Journey. The Peace Journey, created by Jeannette Kravitz guides global friendships among children of the world through technology and education. Here, youth lead as we build a global bridge of communication and cultural tolerance. In 2001 Peace Journey Adventures launched with their first official trip to Tanzania to build computer labs for a school there. Every since, the Peace Journey has taken teens on exciting trips around the globe, produced music concerts with bands like Little Feat and Ben Taylor, and build computer labs, trained students as journalist and created publishing and educational partnerships online and offline. Juvenesse supports the work of The Peace Journey by donating proceeds from product sales. How wonderful is that! Now when you use Juvenesse to pamper your skin, you know you are doing something good for yourself AND for the kids in need

Fab store of the day - Ivy Blue
I’m always excited to discover new online stores. I can add this collaboration between two childhood best friends Amy and Jeane to my online frequent haunts, IvyBlue.com. The girls blend their unique fashion philosophies to create a stunning collection of top and emerging designers in one online destination. And they have just opened a boutique in Manhattan Beach, California recently this spring. Ivy Blue represents top labels like Alice + Olivia, Graham & Spencer and Corey Lynn Calter and rising stars such as Rory Beca, Laila Azhar, Rory Beca and Dorothy Lee. Ivy Blue carries the fashion essentials you need to build a complete wardrobe, including dresses, premium denim, blouses, tees, tanks and handbags. The sale selection is quite impressive too. Most things are at least 50% off. Check it out
I’d love to get my hands on this little number.

Alice + Olivia Accordian Pleat Dress

Piperlime has bags!
I’m totally excited that Piperlime has added handbags to the store along with their awesome selection of shoes. I’m trying to budget wisely for new handbags and here are some bags that I love for under $100!

Lilly Pulitzer Large Via Tote Print - White mumsie $98. Brightly printed canvas totes are perfect for spring. I love it that the cute print is on the inside of the bag too.

Chinese Laundry Double Handle Shoulder Tote - Blue
$84. Simple and chic. I’d wear a white sun dress with this blue tote.

Jessica Simpson Pacha Small - Lemon $99. I didn’t know Jessica Simpson put her name on handbags too. But I’m sure she didn’t have any design input in the handbags, like her shoes. Which is fine by me ’cause I really like this bag. It comes with a cute little coin purse too.

Pink Studio Zita - Brown
$65. So cute it reminds me of the canvas pouch that I used to tote around in college. It was so roomy that I’d stuff it full and round. And I’d try to convince my “hippie-ish” classmates to ditch their ratty shoulder bags and get one of these totes.

Hobo International Katrina - Orange
$100. Gorgeous shade of orange. I don’t have any bags in orange. I usually go for yellow or red if I want something bright, but I think it’s time to go for something in between.

Melie Bianco 3 way clutch - Bone/black $75. It’s a clutch, a shoulder bag, and a tote! I am totally impressed with the niftiness of this bag. They should make more colors for it though.

My new favorite store - StrawberryNET.com

On the weekend I went to Toronto’s Pacific Mall (North America’s biggest Chinese mall. Anybody from Toronto? Raise your hand :). I freaking love that mall, I can spend a whole afternoon there. With some vendors you can even haggle the prices ;). You can find all the popular skincare brands from Asia there. I splurged on some Kose products. Kose is so immensely popular in Asia, and its toner is one of the most highly demanded skin-brightening products. My cousins all sear by it. I got this Kose Medicated Sekkisei for $65. Then I went on StrawberryNET.com and it’s only $45! Now I know where to check first before going to the stores. StrawberryNET.com’s awesome. Their prices are really competitive, up to 50% off all skincare, cosmetics, and fragrances’ retail prices. And they offer FREE SHIPPING worldwide! So it’s great to try out brands that aren’t available in your area or if they are, they are probably marked up ridiculously in stores. If you become a new customer this month you can get a FREE Lancome lip color with any purchase over $25

I think I mentioned before that my mom is a loyal customer of Yves Rocher, has been for as long as I can remember since way back when she was ordering from a catalog. Yves Rocher, originally a French company now also available in North America (they have an American site and a Canadian site), believes that the nature is the source of beauty. They use organic botanical ingredients in their products. As a teenager, I had my own skincare problems and I had my own favorite products (still do) so it never occurred to me to try any of Yves Rocher’s products just because my mom was using them, although they do have products geared towards young skin. But now as my skincare needs are changing, I’m open to try different lines. My mom always has a ton of the stuff in stock (she’s a little compulsive about ordering from Yves Rocher’s catalog). And she gets free gifts and samples to try all the time. That’s a company that knows how to take care of their customers. So I’ve been stealing from her stash when I ran out of moisturizer, face wash, and shampoo. I’ve been very happy about using them and I really recommend these to you girls. The price point is very affordable too.

Phytum Nutrition Replenishing Shampoo $8 and Phytum Nutrition Replenishing Conditioner $8. These are the shampoo and conditioner that I’m using for dry damaged hair. Silky texture and fabulous scent. Many of the shampoos and conditioners are having the “Buy 1 get 1 Free” deal right now!
Inositol Végétal Optimizing Moisturizer Day 1st Lines Refill $24. I get a little neurotic about aging signs on my fac e sometimes. I’m not happy when I see fine lines under my eyes even if they are temporary. I’m using this anti-wrinkle cream as an eye cream. It’s a little too rich for the oily parts of my face, but just rich enough for the delicate skin around the eye. I don’t like to shell big bucks for a tiny jar of eye cream, this works out great.

Bio Specific Pore Regulation Purifying Cleanser $12.50 and Bio Specific Pore Regulation Mattifying Toner $12.50 $6.25. This cleanser and toner combo works great for my oily/combo skin. Because of the micro-particles in the cleanser, my face is super clean after the wash, the scrub is not harsh at all. I don’t know what the magic is in the toner, it really controls the shine in my T-zone.
Hamamélis Moisturizing Body Lotion $11 $5.50. I seriously love this lotion because it works great and it’s so cheap, you can almost always get it half off. The fruity scent is not fancy, but is very comforting. If you get this, get the shower gel $9, too.

Take a look at these sexy heels I have for you, all from ShiekhShoes.com, a fab store to get affordable lovely shoes.

For pocket watches, investing in swiss army watches or the breitling watches does not make sense. Invest in cheap perfect watches instead, not swatch watches.
