Free People’s fall preview

I love Free People for the boho-chic and the free-spiritedness and comfort of their clothes. They are great weekend clothes, and if I had a creative job, I’d wear it to work all the time too. I was very excited to check out their Fall Preview (they keep adding new stuff everyday, so I keep getting lured back), absolutely adorable stuff featuring new plaids, cozy sweaters, denim, new dresses, boots, etc.

I’m really digging the uber cozy and cute hoodies. The colors are so fresh, you don’t have to wait till fall to wear them. The cool nights we’ve been having totally warrant putting these on.

Ruffles galore

Wearing my new Pleated Romper Dress today. What can I say, I can’t get enough of the ruffles. It was the pleated ruffles that drew me in. Timesonline.co.uk wants to remind us ruffle-lovers — Frill seekers: proceed with caution - Wear ruffles judiciously, or you risk looking like an extra in Carmen. It says to use tough accessories such as gladiator sandals to harden the look. It’s good advice but doesn’t mean I’m going to be less ruffle-obsessed, which extends to bikinis too! Wearing structured tailored pieces like wide-leg trousers, cuffed shorts, vests with ruffles works great too.

Striped Pencil Dress was $128 now $89.99. Gotta love a deceivingly sexy pencil dress. But I’d layer a white tee underneath to tone it down.

Deal Alert - Sunner Ruffle Front Dress

Sunner Ruffle Front Dress $242 on sale for $72.60!! I think it’s more of a top than a dress, at least it looks like one on the model. Nonetheless, it’s a beautiful piece. It’s 100% silk. We should all wear more silk in the summer, feels so much better than synthetic fabrics in the hot sun. The print is spring-y, love the ruffles around the neck and the sleeves, and the tie at the waist accentuates, well, the waist! So much better than the shapeless tunics, isn’t it?

I just realized that today Ma Petite Chou has reached the 1000 posts mark since its inception in 2006. Blue is a happy color!

So we know blue is a huge color this coming spring. When isn’t it really? And blue is my favorite color so I got all the more reason to get things in blue. In the cold weather I like darker shades of blue and in the warm weather I wear light blues. I’m wearing this blue dress that I snatched up on eBay. I’m hunting for a blue bag right now, a really roomy, simple and function bag, but the color will make it much more fun. And I want a pair of blue pumps or sandals too. Gosh, I want all of these.

Emilio Cavallini Back Seam Hold Ups $15.75. Love the contrasting pointed heels and back seams on opaque knee-highs instead of sheer stockings, which is more modern and sexy. They will surely boost any girl’s confidence.

Wild Vida low heel pointy toe $41.25 $10.97. My friends disagree with me on this, they are wary of receiving or giving shoes because they worry about the fit. It’s true there’s a risk, but I personally love giving shoes, especially the styles that that person normally wouldn’t get. And of course I make sure I get the right size. These mary jane flats are totally adorable.

The scents are always very light and non-offending, which is a big plus in my book because I can’t stand most of the fragrances, which tend to choke me. These are very nice. Cowl neck sweater dresses

I’m still obsessed with sweater dresses. And I’m still quite picky about them. I was mainly looking for ones with deep v-necks as they are more slimming. Then I tried on this one with a big slouchy cowl neck. I was afraid that it would add too much bulk at the neck. But not the case! I totally loved it. You can go with a big cowl neck or a small one depending on your preference. The small ones have cleaner lines and are very cozy. The big low-hung ones make make my neck look longer.
