Bebe’s new spring pieces

Browsing through Bebe’s new spring arrivals, I was quite pleasantly surprised at some of their dresses which are a bit of a departure from their usual bling-y club-y ones which were, to say the least, not fashion-forward. And I like that they have some kind of themes going on too, like the safari and the 50′s pinup girl. I wouldn’t mind getting some of these myself.

Dangerous Deconstructed Beauty Dress $98. LOVE this drapey skin-skimming but not overly tight asymmetric dress with a slight shimmer! Draped bands are such an interesting touch. And the built-in shelf bra can come quite handy.

Strapless D-Ring Dress $119. This strapless dress is classically chic. The pockets and the tie rope are fun details. This dress can easily be dressed up for night with lots of accessories too.

Embellished Tunic Kimono Top $119. This tunic is exquisite. The Neck and bodice are covered with patterned sequins. The semi-sheer fabric seems light and ethereal. Ideal for layering or wearing as a cover up when you are on vacation!

I love Free People for the boho-chic and the free-spiritedness and comfort of their clothes. They are great weekend clothes, and if I had a creative job, I’d wear it to work all the time too. I was very excited to check out their Fall Preview (they keep adding new stuff everyday, so I keep getting lured back), absolutely adorable stuff featuring new plaids, cozy sweaters, denim, new dresses, boots, etc.

I’m really digging the uber cozy and cute hoodies. The colors are so fresh, you don’t have to wait till fall to wear them. The cool nights we’ve been having totally warrant putting these on.

Ruffles galore

Wearing my new Pleated Romper Dress today. What can I say, I can’t get enough of the ruffles. It was the pleated ruffles that drew me in. Timesonline.co.uk wants to remind us ruffle-lovers — Frill seekers: proceed with caution – Wear ruffles judiciously, or you risk looking like an extra in Carmen. It says to use tough accessories such as gladiator sandals to harden the look. It’s good advice but doesn’t mean I’m going to be less ruffle-obsessed, which extends to bikinis too! Wearing structured tailored pieces like wide-leg trousers, cuffed shorts, vests with ruffles works great too.
