Mod
Bought this wool dress from a Korean label on eBay. Its ’60s Mod vibe attracted me.

Slowly fitting into my normal clothes
I got this Lucca Couture moto jacket from ideeli shortly after I had the baby. I couldn’t fit into it then. My baby weight is sloooooowly coming off. Today I tried it on again, luckily it fits everywhere else…except the chest, I can’t zip it up. But I’m not complaining about having an ample chest, lol.

Boots to run around town

After my last pair of slouchy flat boots died, I was anxious to get another pair this winter. Those brown Sperry Topsiders A/O Longpoint Flat Boots that I bought on Gilt Fuse finally came. I like the plaid patch on the back to make it a bit more interesting. They are my new run-around-town boots. The suede is water-resistant and I sprayed on another layer of suede protector. I ran errands all day long today wearing them. They are definitely comfy, and luckily today wasn’t very cold (relatively speaking, -1 Celsius). They probably won’t be able to keep my feet toasty warm when the weather gets really cold.
Date night
Tonight my guy and I are having a date night (we don’t get to have date nights as often as I’d like, luckily my parents are babysitters on-demand.) I finally get to eat sushi! I’ve been holding it off for almost a year now. I will eat until I burst. A couple of things that I purchased from Rue La La and ideeli finally got here: Charles David Brown Booties and a pair of Portolano cashmere stripe gloves. The booties feel unusually high, maybe because I didn’t wear anything high heeled during my pregnancy, now anything over 2 inches feel super, my feet have to re-adjust to them again. I’ve been collecting gloves like crazy this winter, long gloves, short gloves, fingerless gloves. This pair is more conducive to Canadian winter, unlike the fingerless ones.

Happy New Year!
Happy New Year darlings!! I can’t believe the first decade of 2000s is almost over! This was my best decade by far. So many great things happened to me in these 10 years, landed a great job, found the love of my life, had a baby. I hope the next 10 years are even better. And I wish a wonderful new year ahead of all of you darlings. Thanks for visiting my blog!
It’s been forever since I had an outfit post. We are having a little get-together with some friends tonight. This is what I’m wearing. The top is Lamixx favori draped pleated blouse, courtesy of Christmas present from my guy. The tulle skirt, the purple floral tights, the droplet draped necklace, and the feather headband are what I scored on F21’s website on Boxing Day. Hope everybody has an awesome New Year’s eve!!

A little shopping
Did everybody in the States have an awesome Black Friday? My cousin Lili definitely did. She said it was madness and she had never been so exhausted in her life, lol. She and her family went to an outlet mall and scored herself quite a few excellent deals. She was updating me on it over the BlackBerry. I got a little restless so I went shopping too. Of course it was just a regular Friday here, and also because I still can’t fit into anything in my old size, I couldn’t get too many things. Sorry I don’t have a whole outfit shot for you because what I’m wearing is utterly boring, basically my uniform these days…a t-shirt and some leggings and a hoodie.
Got a cashmere cardigan/vest and a preppy blazer at the Bay (Canadian department store). Both are pretty accommodating right now in terms of fit. Even the blazer has a bit of stretch in it, but I don’t button it up because of my massive chest (compared to what I had before, hehe).
And the white boots that I bought on eBay a while ago finally came in the mail. I don’t like that the flash made them look so shiny. I like the bows on them.
And these awesome vintage leather boots that I got from this vintage store called CovertCandy Vintage. They are wonderfully soft and worn in, make for totally comfortable walking boots. You guys should definitely check out the store. They have a big selection of vintage goodness.
I have a weird-looking belly button
Lol, my belly button looks so funny in the pic. My cousin and her hubby came to visit this weekend and she brought all my loot — a new bag, jewelry, accessories, skincare and makeup stuff. The Kenneth Jay Lane Lady bug watch necklace from ideeli turned out to be extremely cute. I wasn’t too sure about the pink color. But I’m glad it turned out to be such a cute shade. The bag is latico P.S. NORTHSOUTH FLAP bag that I also got from ideeli’s last red sale. The bright fuchsia shade is definitely a change of pace for me. The leather’s really soft and looks worn-in which I love. And there are so many outside pockets in the front and back.
After I took the pictures, I realized I was wearing the bag backwards, lol. Oh my slow pregnant brain. Well off we go to Toronto for non-stop good eats.
Longing to wear normal clothes
Nothing special about today’s outfit…I just wanted to show you guys my ever-expanding baby pump. All I can say is skirts with elastic bands are my friends. I’ve still got two months to go, I can’t imagine how much huger I’ll get, lol. Everyday I look at my old clothes in my closet wistfully.
Oh the dresses I got on eBay got here. They are in my old size (yep, I’m practical like that
. I can’t wait to wear them next year. I have no idea how they’ll look on me. They are supposed to look like this.

Happy Canada Day!
Happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canadians!!! Even though it’s overcast and looks like it’s going to rain, it is still a glorious day. We are going to Mandarin Buffet at noon, they are offering free buffet to all Canadian citizens. We’ll see if the line’s too long for us to wait or not. We love Mandarin! Later we are going to my parents’ place for dinner and then go see fireworks. I’m wearing my BCBG white dress. I was so happy that I can still fit into. Empire waist is a pregnant girl’s best friend. My b00bs have gotten too much for this dress though (yay! lol), so I had to layer a tank underneath for some coverage. Hope everybody have a fantastic day!!
Elasticband
Never thought I’d wear them, but here they are…pants with elasticband! Oh no, lol! I got these Gauzy Capris from Old Navy. These are soooo lightweight and breezy. The smocked waistband is super comfy. I got them in size L so the waistband will have a long stretch to go. I have to wear some kind of heels so I don’t look too sloppy. Obviously if you don’t need the extra room, definitely go with your normal size so they don’t look like they are hanging off you. The blue silk blouse I picked up the other day from Ricki’s. I like that it drapes nicely and that it doesn’t draw attention to my tummy
Non-pregnant pregnant dress
This is one of my old dresses that are in heavy rotation lately. It hides my 4.5 month belly pretty well. I’ve also been wearing these red sandals I got on eBay pretty much everyday since I got them last week. My mom nearly had a fit when she saw me wear some 3-inch heels the other day, so now I try not to wear heels in front of her. My feet have gotten fatter though so some heels are uncomfortable to wear now. I have a pair of wedges that I’m thinking about selling. Maybe I’ll post them here and see if there’s any takers.
I’m looking for dresses that are pregnant belly-friendly but don’t look like tents. Like these lovely ones. So pretty!
Feeling tall
There’s no such thing as just taking a stroll in the mall for me. I just wanted to kill some time before meeting up with a friend. And off I went and got a pair of new shoes. I couldn’t pass up these Aldo leather ankle boots as they were on sale for $50 down from $150
. In these 4.5″ heels, I feel like a giant. The weather’s finally warmed up a bit and most of the snow on the ground is gone. I can actually wear these outside. I don’t have to wear my winter boots and bring another pair of shoes (usually with heels) in my bag to change when I’m indoors.
Cute lacy dress and Hello Kitty necklace

I really wasn’t supposed to purchase anything fashion-y this month as my clothes budget is zilch. But I saw this Hello Kitty crystal necklace in a small boutique, I had to have it. I reasoned that we didn’t really do anything to celebrate Valentine’s Day (except seeing “Friday the 13th” in the theater…a good solid horror flick for a horror fan), I deserved a little somethin’ somethin’. With the necklace in my hand, I thought I was just going to browse the dress section quickly, then I plucked this cute little silk lace ruffle-y black dress out and I had to try it on, and once I tried it on I couldn’t leave without it. I don’t even know what brand it is from, but you know how little boutiques always stock gems that you don’t find elsewhere. It’s very well-made, lined with silk as well. So I guess I was borrowing from my next month’s clothes budget. No matter, I’m happy
. I’m wearing it out to go out tonight.

My new Botkier bag arrived

So so happy to receive the Botkier Medium Stevie satchel that I ordered from gilt.com after my vacation! It is bigger than I thought as I was a little afraid that the medium wouldn’t be big enough for me. It is the perfect size and deceptively roomy. I couldn’t believe how much stuff I could put in there and it’s super sturdy, it doesn’t change shape. Behind the front ruffles are actually extra pouches with magnetic closures, which are handy for holding my lip gloss, keys and BlackBerry. It’s the perfect day/work bag for me. RevolveClothing has it too. It was on sale just a little while ago, now it’s not
.
Bangles and Rings

These are my latest accessory loot. I’ve been on a wooden bangle kick. And I wanted to get some “old-looking” rings. I showed my guy a snake ring in a magazine that I liked, it looked subdued enough for day, and he remembered. He picked up a similar looking one on his business trip. And I instantly wanted the 3-piece set rings because I liked the hammered look which made them fit perfectly together.
Super casual day today, Gap skinnies and Splendid jersey top.
